Summary:
This book presents the culmination of many years of research by the author’s team on the direct lightning damage effects on CFRP (carbon fiber-reinforced polymer). It integrates extensive experimental data with simulation results to provide a comprehensive investigation into lightning-induced damage in CFRP materials. The book analyzes the electrical response and thermo-electric effects of CFRP under lightning current components, and establishes a multi-physical field coupling damage model based on arc-thermal-electrical-force interactions. This model not only advances the scientific understanding of lightning effects on CFRP, but also introduces new approaches and methodologies for mitigating and protecting against lightning damage. From an application standpoint, the book offers valuable technical support for the aviation manufacturing industry, particularly in the design and development of next-generation aircraft and aerospace vehicles.
