- Beginning with v. 3, Oct. 1881, the Theosophist includes a monthly supplement. During 1884 this supplement forms a separate publication, entitled: Journal of the Theosophical Society.
- Beginning with vol. 7 the Theosophist includes the "Official report (called later 'General report') of the Theosophical Society". In vols. 7-9 these reports form the Jan. supplements.
- From Oct. to Dec. 1930, a bulletin called the Adyar theosophist (the official publication of the Theosophical Society, replacing the Adyar bulletin) was published in Madras and called vol. 52, no. 1-3.
