- Contains a selection from the first 94 numbers (Nov. 15, 1739-June 19, 1740) of a periodical published tri-weekly from Nov. 15, 1739 to Mar. 1742 (?) which was conducted at first by Fielding under the pseudonym Capt. Hercules Vinegar. He withdrew in June 1740, and the paper was continued by Ralph. Articles signed C. and L. are supposed to be Fielding's. The original folio numbers exist only in very imperfect sets. cf. Godden, Henry Fielding, etc.
