Es el territorio capaz de albergar mayor cantidad de seres humanos dispuestos a vivir juntos de acuerdo con reglas de convivencia. La tesis que permea este trabajo es la idea de que la ciudad ha cumplido un papel destacado en el proceso de constitución de la cultura, entendido este como el largo trayecto sufrido y desplegado por el hombre en la configuración de su ser; un camino que no puede ser satanizado ni mitificado, pues está trazado con huellas de todo tipo que lo conducen por caminos zigzagueantes de buen vivir y de malestar.
