Summary:
This dataset outlines how to 'handle' qualitative datasets, in this case, Skype interview transcripts, in order to create narrative vignettes. Data have been provided by Professor Sarah O'Shea from Curtin University of Technology and is derived from an Australian Research Council (Discovery Project) that was awarded in 2017 (DP170100705). The focus of this dataset is on the steps and thinking involved in creating student narrative vignettes from qualitative data (in this case, written transcripts), particularly considerations around choices, structure, and also, ethical dilemmas. The method also details how you approach writing vignettes as either a sole researcher or as a member of a larger research team. The strength of presenting data in the form of a narrative vignette is explored as well as common pitfalls or difficulties that can be encountered. The dataset files are accompanied by a teaching guide and a student guide.
