- Summary:
- Collecting objective health data is an important endeavor and ambulatory heart rate monitors allow researchers to collect these data. However, there are equipment and personnel costs related to collecting these data. Such costs are increased when researchers are not able to collect such data in face-to-face sessions in the lab. We report on our experiences using ambulatory heart rate monitors to collect heart rate variability data over a videoconferencing platform. We hope that other researchers will benefit from our experiences and will also be able to plan and implement field studies using these technologies.
