Summary:
This dataset is designed for teaching computational sentiment analysis. The dataset includes approximately 500 tweets collected from Pizza Hut's 'search network' on Twitter over 23–26 March 2020. Search network refers to the tweets that are directed towards Pizza Hut; that is, the tweets that mention, retweet, or reply to Pizza Hut's primary Twitter account @PizzaHut. The example also includes contextual information about the tweet, including how many likes and retweets a specific tweet has received at the time of collection and information about the user who made the tweet. The 'search network' dataset can be conceptualised as Pizza Hut's online audience or consumer network on Twitter. Sentiment analysis can be used to analyse the attitudes and opinions communicated by users within the network and provide information about customer sentiment in relation to Pizza Hut. The dataset file is accompanied by this Student Guide and a How-to Guide for SentiStrength.
