- This case study examines the changing trends in artificial intelligence (AI) education on YouTube using a blend of social network analysis and quantitative ethnography, explicitly employing the epistemic network analysis method. YouTube's function as a significant informal learning platform provides an opportunity to investigate the distribution of AI education outside conventional environments. This study systematically examines the social frameworks influencing the creation and consumption of AI educational content on YouTube, emphasizing the dynamics among content creators, viewers, and platform algorithms. This study uses social network analysis to identify principal influencers and content hubs within AI-related educational networks on YouTube. At the same time, employing network analysis facilitates examining cognitive connections established through these interactions. The study emphasizes structural and conceptual trends in AI education, providing a dual perspective to comprehend the impact of informal learning environments on public AI literacy. This study methodologically tackles challenges associated with data quality, ethical issues, and platform dynamics, highlighting the intricacies of engaging with user-generated content in a swiftly changing digital environment. The results offer critical insights into the influence of informal learning on AI education, highlighting the significance of platforms such as YouTube in democratizing access to AI knowledge.
