- This case study focuses on the qualitative data collection experience of a researcher who was interested in comparing self-descriptions of managers and entrepreneurs in order to clarify the relationship between self-construal and organizational roles. In addition to offering a theoretical background on the difference between self-construal and organizational roles, this case study details the chosen research method, its strengths and weakness, and its specific application in the collection of online qualitative data. This case further provides a description of the flexible implementation, the use of an open and free responding format, and how to gather a large sample using an online Twenty Statements Test (TST).
