This How-to Guide explores creative methods as part of an inclusive research praxis. It examines what creativity can mean for how we approach data, research design, and research processes and for how we relate to participants, with the aim of expanding participation, accessibility, and epistemological plurality—particularly in research with groups underserved by dominant research traditions. The guide offers conceptual lenses for understanding creativity alongside practical methodologic pathways for working with creative data in inclusive research. By foregrounding embodied, visual, poetic, and making-based ways of knowing, this guide illustrates how creative methods can open space for forms of knowledge that are often marginalized within dominant research paradigms.
