Copy of a letter wrote and sent to the Most Honourable the Marquis of Lothian, upon the 16th February last, 1756, by a majority of the magistrates and town-council of Jedburgh : printed by their order, to vindicate themselves from an aspersion thrown upon them, that their opposing Mr Bonar's being minister of Jedburgh, is a political and party affair, against the noble Marquis, and not a regard for Mr Thomas Boston, whom they want to be their minister.
