Information for John Scougal and others, commissioners appointed by the Act of Parliament for regulating the police of the town of Leith, and for John Hutton, manager of the Old Ropery company, David Ogilvie, manager of the New Ropery company, Messrs Adolphus and Andrew Scales, and others, ropemakers in Leith, John Jamieson, merchant there, and Messrs Tod and Stothart, merchants there, all proprietors of the grounds lying upon both sides of the road leading from the links to the sands of Leith, by the opening between the old glass-house and the new glass-house grounds : against the Lord Provost, Magistrates, and Council of the City of Edinburgh, and the Edinburgh Glass-House Company.
