Last speech, confession, and dying words of Alexander Provan, late weaver and feuar in Caltoun, near Glasgow, thereafter distiller in Abbey Close, or Smith-hills of Paisley, presently prisoner in the tolbooth of Paisley, taken from, and signed by his own hand, when in said prison, upon the 5th of November, 1765, who was executed at the Gallow-green of Paisley, and his right-hand struck off, upon the 7th of November, 1765, for the most inhumane, cruel and barbarous murder of his own wife.
