Rhode-Island, James McSparran D.D. as the present incumbent of the Church of England, called St. Paul's, within the Petequamscut Purchase, in the Narroganset Country, in Rhode-Island, and in the right of the said Church, plantiff below, and now appellant : Robert Hassard gent. defendant below, and now respondent : on a suit for 280 (the remaining part of 300) acres of land in South Kingston in the Narroganset country, parcel of the said Petequamscut Purchase, which 300 acres were originally given by the proprietor's deed in 1668, for an orthodox person, to preach God's word to the inhabitants : the appellant's case.
