To the public, as most of those unhappy persons, who fell in the melancholy affair at Leith on the 20th of April last, have left their widows and fatherless children in the most destitute situations : it is therefore presumed, that the public will execute an application for such relief as they may think proper to bestow on this occasion, where charity and humanity will make many happy to have an opportunity of alleviating the misfortunes of their fellow-creatures.
