Fisherman, or, The art of angling made easy : containing the most approved methods in use for fishing or angling for pike, trout, salmon, grailing, carp, tench, bream, barbel, perch, pope, roach, dace, gudgeon, smelt, eel, flounder, mullet, loach, minnow. &c. &c. &c. : together with their seasons of spawning, hours of biting, and whatever else is necessary to be known by an expert angler : also, directions in the choice, management, and application of the tackle, baits, &c. in the different seasons of the year, and for all the various and peculiar modes of angling : likewise, remarks on the utility of fish ponds, with their most profitable formation and disposition precisely and carefully pointed out : to which are prefixed, an account of several curious methods of fishing practised in Europe, and elsewhere and a description of all the principal rivers, lakes, &c. in England, their rise, confluences, and particular kinds of fish produced in them, in order to direct the angler with the greater certainty of his sport.
