Summary:
This work investigates the experiences of enslaved children in the Parish of São Gonçalo dos Campos between 1835 and 1871, analyzing the daily life of slavery in a region marked by agro-export and subsistence economies. Using written and oral sources, it highlights the presence of Black women and children in forced labor, especially in tobacco plantations. Based on historical demography and microanalysis, the study reveals patterns of exploitation and individual trajectories, contributing to the understanding of child slavery and social history in the interior of Bahia.
