Summary:

Mit der Schaffung von 39 Gemischten Schiedsgerichten leisteten die Friedensverträge von 1919-1923 einen wesentlichen Beitrag zur Entwicklung der internationalen Gerichtsbarkeit. Mit über 90.000 bearbeiteten Fällen war die Arbeitsbelastung dieser Schiedsgerichte höher als die aller anderen internationalen Gerichte der Zwischenkriegszeit. Als weiteres Novum galt damals, dass sie auch von Privatklägern angerufen werden konnten, weshalb sie nach dem Zweiten Weltkrieg dem EuGH als Vorlage dienten. Die in diesem Band versammelten und teilweise auf neuen Archivfunden beruhenden Beiträge beschäftigen sich ausschließlich mit diesen heute nahezu in Vergessenheit geratenen Institutionen.
