"Published by Carter & Hendee, Boston."--frontispiece plate. Carter and Hendee published in Boston between 1829 and 1830. In 1831, the firm name changed to Carter, Hendee & Babcock. The firm name reverted to Carter and Hendee in 1832, until it changed to Carter, Hendee & Company in 1833. According to BAL (3108), the first edition of The little girl's own book was published by Carter, Hendee & Babcock in 1831. The collation of the first edition matches that of the issue in hand.
