The ladies of the Benevolent Society ask your attention to the following short summary of the charities of the church, reports from all of which we are able to give you, through the courtesy of the societies representing them : we hope you will see that an attempt is made at systematized charity, and be induced to increase your efforts, so that our church may represent in the community, a still more active force for good : we endeavor not only to give material aid, but to teach the needy, cooking, sewing, etc., so that they may be better able to help themselves : all this cannot be done without money, for which we appeal to you : increased subscriptions to the Ladies' Benevolent Society are much needed, and also active workers in all departments.
