Heliotype of a manuscript letter addressed to her grandchildren.
The cover is that of her "Old Boston for young eyes" (Boston : The Heliotype Printing Co., 1880) with the word "times" written on a slip of paper and pasted over the word "Boston."
Two of the plates were originally issued in Old Boston for young eyes. The frontispiece is a mounted photograph of Mary J. Peabody. One plate is signed: M.J.D. [i.e., Mary Jane Derby].
