- Summary:
- Physics is frequently one of the hardest subjects for students to tackle because it combines two of the most challenging areas for many learners: mathematics and word problems. What sets this series apart from other physics teaching tools is that the concepts are taught entirely through step-by-step example problems of increasing difficulty. Each new concept is introduced in an easy-to-understand manner and reinforced with example problems that are worked out step by step, line by line, to completion. If a student has difficulty with coursework or homework, they can simply find a similar fully worked example in the series and review the steps needed to solve the problem. Students will immediately improve their problem-solving skills, which will help them with homework and exams while also providing a valuable reference for many of the most commonly encountered physics problems. This program introduces the concept of conservation of linear momentum. It then works through problems one step at a time, clearly demonstrating how to use this fundamental principle to calculate the final velocity of bodies that undergo collisions with one another. Each Teacher's Guide includes subject matter revision, suggestions on how to present the material, questions to ask students, and class projects designed to help illustrate the key concepts. The Resource Chapter includes recommended books and physics websites.
