Summary:

Despatches from William Reid, governor of Bermuda (October to December 1845) together with letters from various 'offices' (Government departments and other organisations) and individuals on matters related to Bermuda sent during the year. Despatches are described at item level: CO 37/112/1. Refers to the disputed claims to certain land by the colonial secretary and provost marshal. Explains that the case had to be tried in the Court of Chancery in Bermuda. Executive, No. 39, folios 3-6. 03/10/1845. CO 37/112/2. Reports that convicts had carried off two boats and escaped. Encloses copies of a statement received from Lieutenant Fayrer against the governor's interference in the Convict Establishment, with his replies and other correspondence on the subject.
