Dated '6 George IV'. From 1709 onwards, any fundamental changes to the Company' s powers and privileges were made by Act of Parliament, but a few royal charters were issued in the eighteenth century that related to the Company' s powers in India. This royal charter relates to Crown appointments (see also IOR/A/1/96 and IOR/A/1/98).
