Letter concerning a 'Colvin Gaines' (civilian dog donated to military), reassuring his owner that he is being a 'good soldier', 'reliable' and 'an example to his comrades'. Also included, sent from Joyce, is humorous drawing of two foxes looking out at US soldiers in foxholes with comment 'Mr. and Mrs. Fox: I understand there's a housing shortage in the U.S. too.'.
