- Description: This series (1 sleeve) consists of letters and V-mails from William Bennett. The Bulk of the letters are written to his parents in San Francisco, California, but there are some letters written to his former secretary, Fran. Bennett is stationed at Camp Bradford, Norfolk, Virginia; Fort Ethan Allen, Vermont; the Aleutian Islands; and in North Africa. In his letters, Bennett writes about preparations for the Battle of Attu, leaving the Aleutians aboard the USS J. Franklin Bell (APA-16), and asks about matters at home.;Personal correspondence from the service of Sergeant William Bennett who was assigned to the 502nd Parachute Infantry Regiment, 101st Airborne Division in the Pacific, Mediterranean, and European Theater of Operations.
