- Description: This series consists of three letters from William Bennett t his former secretary, Fran, San Francisco, California. In the first letter, Bennett had just been assigned to Camp Roberts, California for training. He is then sent to Fort William Henry Harrison in Helena, Montana. He also trains with the Canadian 1st Special Service Force. In his letters he describes the bases and fellow recruits. The letter dated 15 August includes a transcription typed by Fran.;Personal correspondence from the service of Sergeant William Bennett who was assigned to the 502nd Parachute Infantry Regiment, 101st Airborne Division in the Pacific, Mediterranean, and European Theater of Operations.
