Summary:

Simon Braitman was born near Warsaw, Poland to a father who was a tailor and owned a small shop. When Braitman was two years old, his father relocated the family and they did well until 1939. His family was rounded up and his father was sent to Auschwitz in August 1942. Simon lived in the ghetto until taken to a smaller ghetto in Zwolen. While in the ghetto, he had to help bury 91 elderly people, including his grandparents, who were killed. He then went on a death march as the Russians moved closer to the factory where he worked. He was taken to Mauthausen by way of Auschwitz and eventually ended up in the Gunskirchen Death Camp.
