Summary:
George Berlin served in the Army as a rifleman in the 75th Infantry Division and took part in combat operations during the Battle of the Bulge and the assault into Germany. In the spring of 1945 his unit was sent to Westphalia, where they provided medical aid, food, clothing and shelter for liberated European POWs, who had been in a German labor camps. After the war, Berlin returned to the United States and was discharged from the Army in 1945 with the rank of corporal.
