Summary:
Description: USS LST-787 (Landing Ship, Tank) disembarking bulldozers at a landing beach. (According to Michael R. Still's book -- Letters from the War: Gordon M. Sill in the Pacific, WWII -- this photo was taken at Aitape in May 1944. It cannot be so because at that time USS LST-787 was operating between Okinawa and Saipan. Because Gordon Still was stationed in Japan in October 1945, there is a possibility that this picture was taken there.) Probably in Japan.
