Summary:

Clarence Earl Derrington served in Company E, 2nd Battalion, 310th Infantry Regiment, 78th Infantry Division during WWII. He was captured just a few days before the start of the Battle of the Bulge in the Ardennes and spent 105 days as a POW throughout the rest of the war. He served his time as a POW in Stalag 6G and Stalag 12A. He was liberated by a recon element of the 9th Armored Division. He went on to help lobby and fight for more recognition, financial compensation and VA benefits for American POWs by way of Public Law 9737.
