- Robert C. Steelman was drafted into the army in 1944. He served with the 1064th Engineer Forestry Company in Europe. Steelman went through France making sure the sawmills were dedicating their products to the war effort. After V-E Day, he was shipped to Bataan, Philippines. Steelman was discharged in 1946 as a T4.
