- Norman Y. Mineta is a Japanese American who spent time with his family in the Heart Mountain Internment Camp in Wyoming. He later became a Congressman and was a driving force to pass the Civil Liberties Act of 1988 H.R. 442 that apologized to Japanese Americans and allotted reparation payments for their treatment during WWII. Mineta was the Secretary of Transportation during the 9/11 Terrorist Attack.
