Doctor Hand"s notes on the front page of the article are: "Aboard the SS 'Sea Star', July 1946", "En Route Yokohama-Seattle." Dr. Hand's notes after the name of the author, Miss Elizabeth Kilburn, are: "Methodist Missionary, POW in Japan, Adenocarcinoma rectosigmoid [colon cancer]."
