Navy corpsman attached to the 2nd Marine Division; landed on Tinian a few days after the invasion and set up an aid station on the beach where he treated wounded Marines; the more seriously wounded Marines were taken to a hospital ship just offshore; he also recalled that there were some problems with Japanese soldiers coming in at and night-raiding the aid station; after things settled down on Tinian his unit was shipped to Ulithi for a rest; this was the only campaign that he was involved in.
