Description: This series (1 sleeve) consist of letters and telegrams from John Mullins to his family in Boston, Massachusetts. Mullins completes his tour in Europe and the bulk of the letters are written during Mullins’ post-combat service, mainly at the Army Air Forces Tactical Center in Orlando, Florida. In June, Mullins writes about meeting his future wife, Phyllis. The three telegrams at the end of the series announce their marriage.;Personal correspondence from the service of Captain John Mullins, who was a P-38 pilot in the 94th Fighter Squadron, 1st Fighter Group in the Mediterranean and European Theater of Operations. The collection is arranged into four series: I. Personal correspondence from John Mullins, January 1943-December 1943; II. Personal correspondence from John Mullins, January 1944-December 1944; III. Personal correspondence from John Mullins, January 1945-August 1945; and IV. Miscellaneous, 1945.
