Documents include: a telegram from Vice Admiral Randall Jacobs informing Betty Wheeler that Ensign Wheeler is classified as missing in action; military and governmental correspondence concerning the events that confirmed Ensign Wheeler was killed in action; condolence letters; and a copy of the war crimes report regarding the death of Ensign Wheeler. Also included are empty envelopes and newspaper clippings.;Military correspondence, documents, newspaper clippings, and photographs from the service of Ensign Lewis Wheeler, who was killed in action on the Dutch Celebs [now Sulawesi], while serving with the Patrol Bombing Squadron 20 (VPB-20).
