- Description: This series (4 folders) contains letters and V-mails sent to Pharmacist's Mate Second Class William Stover from his family members in Williamsport, Pennsylvania. The majority of the letters are written by Stover’s mother, Mrs. A.W. Stover. There are some letters written by his father, A.W. Stover, his two brothers, Jim and Donald, and Emma Harris (Mamie). In the letters, town news and family news are discussed. The family asks Stover questions relating to his duties in the military. Some of the letters mention news relating to the war such as the atomic bomb drop, President Roosevelt’s death and rationing.
