Description: This series (5 folders) consists of personal correspondence from Edward Stebbins. The bulk of the letters were written to Stebbins’ wife, Adelaide, and children, Michael, Patricia, and Gail. Describes experience in the military, particularly his daily routine and training, fellow recruits, food, recreation time, vaccinations and travel between camps. Arranges for his wife to visit when he has leave. Reminds his wife that he loves her, and asks for news of the family. Other topics include: African American cadets; impressions of Italy and North Africa; service discharge and post-war duties.
