Description: This series consists of 25 pieces of personal correspondence to Mrs. S. Wendell Brennecke, Walhalla, South Carolina, from members of the Armed Forces whose surnames fall in the range of M-S. The senders are: Alma Mays, who was stationed on Azores, Portugal; Aviation Cadet Henry Mays, Enid Army Flying School, Oklahoma; Staff Sergeant Lewis Mays, who served with the 40th Infantry Regiment in the European Theater of Operations; Private Corde Meiburg, who was assigned to the 279th Signal Pigeon Company, Fort Shafter, Hawaii; Mac Neville, who was stationed in England; Captain Walter Posey, who served with the 78th Armored Medical Battalion in the European Theater of Operations; Captain Hiram Scarborough, who served in the Pacific Theater of Operations; William Schroder, who served with the 323rd Bombardment Group, 455th Bombardment Squadron in the European Theater of Operations; William Schumacher, who served with the 18th Troop Carrier Squadron, 64th Troop Carrier Group in the Mediterranean Theater of Operations; and Master Sergeant Robert Seaborn, Miami, Florida. Also included is an envelope from the USS Charleston (PG-51).;Letters, V-mails, and postcards sent to Mrs. S. Wendell Brennecke, Walhalla, South Carolina, from several members of the Armed Forces. The collection is arranged into three series: I. Personal correspondence, A-D, 1943-1945; II. Personal correspondence, G-K, 1943-1946; and III. Personal Correspondence, M-S, 1943-1948.
