Description: Lieutenant Junior Grade William Brunson, Pacific Theater of Operations, to his wife, Mrs. Jennie Brunson, San Francisco, California. Brunson was stationed on the SS Philip Kearny. As a member of an armed guard unit and leading a gun crew, he recounted daily life and operations aboard the ship in great detail, as well as his impressions of ports and Pacific Theater locations, which included Eniwetok; Guam; Saipan; Mindoro; Manila, Philippines; Finschhafen and Hollandia, New Guinea. Some letters dated 1942, 1943, or 1944 are actually from 1945.;Personal correspondence between Lieutenant Junior Grade William Brunson and Mrs. Jennie Brunson.
