Summary:
Description: From John Ferguson, Bramuth, France, to Mrs. John Ferguson, New Orleans, Louisiana. John tells his mother that the mail service has slowed down significantly in the last few months and it can take 35 or more days to get letters in. Catches up on the hometown gossip. Requests that his mother send him a fruit cake in her next package. Lets her know that he has been writing to a "Mississippi female" and he honestly doesn't like her that much but doesn't have the heart to tell her because she is so nice. Writes that the past week "has found me making an unexpected tour of France" and he ran into an old friend who was injured and is being transferred to the Quartermaster division.
