- Description: This series (4 folders) consists of letters from Bernard Sack, multiple locations, to his wife, Selma, Baltimore, Maryland and Brooklyn, New York. From January to February, Sack is still at the United States Naval Training Center in Bainbridge, Maryland. Sack was assigned to the LST-60 in March and was stationed in New Orleans, Louisiana until the end of the month. The LST-60 began traveled to England; Boston, Massachusetts; and Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada in April. The ship returned to England in May, and Sack remained there for the rest of the year.;Personal correspondence from the service of Seaman First Class Bernard Sack, who served on the LST-60 in the European Theater of Operations. The collection is arranged into three series: I. Personal correspondence from Bernard Sack, December 1943; II. Personal correspondence from Bernard Sack, January 1944-December 1944; and III. Personal correspondence from Bernard Sack, January 1945-November 1945.
