- POW camp guard at Camp Robert; Mr. Upfield was drafted and while in boot camp it was discovered that he had some health problems; he was transferred to the Machine shop and later became a camp guard assisting in overseeing 17,000 Italian POWS; he was responsible for 8 to 10 POWS and had 2 interpreters; Upfield recalled that he did not have any problems with the POWS.
