- Description: Kept by George Herzog after Seaman First Class Jacob Cook passed it to him on 7 October 1942 while docked next to one another in the New Hebrides. Cook was on the USS Gwin, and was killed when the Gwin was torpedoed by the Japanese on 13 July 1943. Herzog logged daily entries until September 1945 and continued to use it until 1946.
