Description: This series consists of five post-service documents belonging to Ernest Parker. The documents include: a G.I. claim; authorization of education or training subsistence allowance; Orleans Parish School Board, Booker T. Washington Public High School certificate of brick masonry; and a Presidential form letter posthumously recognizing service of Parker from President George Herbert Walker Bush.;Military correspondence and documents from the service of Private First Class Ernest Parker, who served as airplane and engine mechanic at the 120th Army Air Forces Base Unit at Richmond Army Air Base, Virginia. The collection is divided into two series: I. Military correspondence and documents, July 1941-December 1945 and II. Post-service documents, 1946-Circa 1990.
