- Description: Sergeant Dean L. Scott, Italy, to Mrs. C.R. Brandon, New Orleans, Louisiana. Included most recent photographs of her son, Theodore, apologizes for their poor quality; the Catholic chaplain there will be writing her as soon as possible; asks her to pass along any information she receives about her son; tells her that it is difficult for soldiers, not to mention the War Department, to give families of missing soldiers definite information, and that he does not wish to give her false hope, and that the War Department will be able to give her more information than he is at liberty to tell he; someday he hopes to be able to tell her all that he knows about her son; praise for the pilots who serve with her son. Letter is five pages long, written on military-themed stationery, envelope included, with line drawings of soldiers at the bottom of each page, accompanied by a few words (e.g., the army is making a man out of me.).
