Summary:

Description: This series (3 folders) consists of letters from Lieutenant Robert "Dick" Lee, a member of the United States Army Air Forces, to Constance Logsdon. All but one letter was written in 1945. From January to March of 1945, Lee is stationed at various bases in the United States. Locations included Pratt, Kansas; Lake Charles, Louisiana; West Palm Beach, Florida; and Fort Wayne, Indiana. At the end of March, Lee was assigned to the 16th Combat Cargo Squadron, 4th Combat Cargo Group and sent to the China Burma India Theater of Operations. While in the CBI, Lee was stationed at Ledo, Assam, India; Chittagong, India (now Bangladesh); Myitkyina, Burma (now Myanmar); Ondal, Bardhaman, India; and Agra, Uttar Pradesh, India. Lee’s postal address includes APO 214, 218, 689, and 884. In 1946, Lee was assigned to the Headquarters and Headquarters Squadron 3rd Air Depot Group. Also included in the series is a draft of a letter from Logsdon to Lee.
