- Description: This series (2 folders) consists of letters and V-mails from Nelson "Bud" Rollins, multiple locations, to his sister, Mrs. Grace Walz, Birmingham, Alabama. Rollins is in Italy with the 45th Calvary Reconnaissance Troop until August, by this point the unit had traveled to Southern France. In his letter written on 24 August 1944, Rollins informs Grace that he participated in D-Day and landed three hours after the first wave of troops.
