Description: This series (1 folder) consists of letters, postcards, and V-mails from Nelson "Bud" Rollins, multiple locations, to his sister, Mrs. Grace Walz, Birmingham, Alabama. Throughout January, Rollins is traveling throughout the South with the 45th Calvary Reconnaissance Troop. The letters from February are all written from Florida, and in March, the unit is at Camp Pickett, Virginia. There are no letters from April, May or, June. In July, Rollins has been deployed to Tunisia, in the Mediterranean Theater of Operations. By the end of the month, Rollins is at the 2nd Convalescent Hospital due to an ankle injury. Rollins was discharged from the hospital at the end of September. The 45th Calvary Reconnaissance Troop ended the year in Italy.
